Jim Linderman blog about surface, wear, form and authenticity in self-taught art, outsider art, antique american folk art, antiques and photography. Dull tool and dim bulb were the only swear words my father ever used. Items from the Jim Linderman collection of vernacular photography, folk art, ephemera and curiosities. Jim Linderman Interview Folk Art Magazine Fall 2005
I dispersed them. Many were used as illustrations in the article "Costumed by Hand" by Francine Kirsch in Folk Art Magazine Spring/Summer 2007. Thanks!
I picked my one thing on eBay a while back: articulated figures, not too early, maybe 1999, and still not too cheap since people have been collecting them for years. The competition these days is a lot rougher and it doesn't seem like there's been many really good examples (although, there hasn't been much good folk art at all lately on eBay). Who knows, maybe we're in a lull? I think it's time for a road trip...
Those Herman Bridgers figures are great! Where'd you get them?
ReplyDeleteI believe the question is now more properly stated "where'd they go"?
ReplyDeleteExcellent interview!
ReplyDeletegreat interview. so do you ever have plans to publish a book on all your handmade paperdolls?
