I'm a little busy today, so no story, though I am sure there is a good one. Just a few real photo postcards of a "faith healer" at work who turns out to be a Canadian Foot Doctor. NOTE: This post is also on the blog old-time-religion, where miracles such as this occur on a regular basis.

I've been interested in the good doctor since reading The Canada Doctor (Boston: Hale, Cushman & Flint, c. 1933) a couple of years ago. A curious novel, its hero - Dr Roche - is clearly based on the faith healer, and has all the appearances of a promotional tool. In fact, the dust jacket features an advertisement for Locke's Lockwedge Shoes.
ReplyDeleteInterested? Obsessed, really, really. If I may, you'll see in this post - my third on the novel - a cast made of "The Healing Hands of Dr. Locke".
Oustanding. Thanks so Much Brian!
