Chess McCartney the Goatman

Forgive me for recently forgetting the birthday of Chess McCartney, the Goatman, who settled in Georgia after decades of travel across the country with goats pulling his wagon. By all accounts, his approaching town was announced by clanging pans and bleating animals, followed soon after by his pungent odor.

  1. This "Goatman" was the figure whom the famous Georgia lady author, Flannery O'Connor mentioned, e.g. in her correspondence. He and his almost one-man sect, the Free Thinking Christian Mission, are examples of the degraded concept of the "church" and denomination held among Protestants and sectaries, which results in the unending fissiparousness of those movements and their failure to have any tenable theology and reality of Christ's Church. That is due to the fact that there is no church outside the Catholic and Orthodox Churches. The very idea that small movements, of which McCartney's Mission is an example, can call themselves "churches" is ridiculous.
