I always forget how little people were a hundred years ago. Americans are enormous now, and living so much longer. Interesting.
ReplyDeletewell, at the least they had to walk up the stairs every day. back then "corpulent" folks were less common.
ReplyDeleteThere was that great series of shows on PBS where people had to live in other eras, colonial, pioneer, etc. The ones that ended up homesteading in Wyoming, or was it Montana, all lost a ridiculous amount of weight, especially the men. One on particular was quite alarmed about it until it turned out his blood pressure etc had improved significantly.
